A new program in Wayne County aims to reduce hospital stays for patients with dementia.

Wayne UNC Health Care in Goldsboro is one of several North Carolina hospitals participating in the Dementia-Friendly Hospital Initiative, which trains health care workers how to approach patients with dementia. Although the pilot program is relatively new, health care workers have already seen positive results.
