The 2016 North Carolina Heritage Award recipients are: Sheila Kay Adams, a storyteller and musician; Houston, James and Jamie Lewis, fourth generation boatbuilders; Marc Pruett, banjo player, songwriter, and part of bluegrass band Balsam Range; Montagnard Dega weavers H Ju Nie and H Ngach Rahlan, and Maceo Parker, internationally-recognized funk, jazz and rhythm and blues musician.
