The legacy of Angela Davis explored through archival images and contemporary art.
The image of Angela Davis was a lightning rod for both the left and the right in the early 1970s. An exhibit at the Zimmerli Art Museum explores her visual and political legacy through rare archival material from the collection of Lisbet Tellefsen, and the work of contemporary artists including Steffani Jemison, Justin Hicks, and Sadie Barnette. The exhibit travels to the Oakland Museum in 2022.
